The six things worth checking before you move a production workload, whichever provider you end up on.
01Compare the real cost per core and per GB, not the headline
Entry prices tell you very little. Take the configuration you actually run, and price it on both sides with the extras included: the IPv4 address, the VAT that applies to you, backups and any support plan. A 4 vCPU / 8 GB AMD instance is $41.99/mo on Hetzner CPX32 in the EU regions and $15.21/mo on CubePath gp.starter, so on that shape the gap is around 64% before either invoice adds anything else.
02Know whether you need shared or dedicated vCPU
Shared vCPU plans (Hetzner CX and CPX, CubePath General Purpose) split physical cores between tenants and are the right call for web apps, small databases, bots and staging. Dedicated vCPU plans (Hetzner CCX, CubePath Dedicated CPU) reserve physical cores for you, which matters for builds, CI runners, video encoding, game servers and anything latency-sensitive. Paying for dedicated cores you do not need is the most common way to overspend.
03Check included traffic and what an overage costs
Traffic is where providers differ most. Hetzner includes 20 TB with every cloud plan in its EU regions and 1 to 5 TB in its US ones. CubePath includes from 3 TB on the entry plan up to 200 TB on the largest, so the smaller plans allow less than a European Hetzner server and the larger ones allow considerably more. If you serve media or backups, price the traffic before the compute.
04Put the server where your users are
Hetzner serves the EU from Germany and Finland. CubePath's EU region is Barcelona, which is the shorter path for Spain, Portugal and southern Europe, and its Houston and Miami sites cover the US and Latin America. Latency is decided by geography, so measure it from where your users actually are: our looking glass runs the test from each site.
05Look at how you get help when something breaks
Check the language your provider answers in, the hours it covers and whether decent support is an add-on. CubePath support is handled by the engineers who run the platform, in English and Spanish, with no paid tiers to unlock it. Also confirm there is DDoS mitigation at network level, included rather than billed per incident.
06Make sure you can leave again
A provider worth moving to is one you could move away from. Look for snapshots and backups you control, an API and a CLI for automation and plain rsync or rclone access to your data. CubePath exposes a REST API and an open source CLI, so the same migration you are doing now stays a scripted job rather than a manual rebuild.

Are the specs really comparable?
We match vCPU and RAM tier for tier, on AMD EPYC CPUs with NVMe SSD storage, the same class of hardware Hetzner's CPX and CCX lines run on. Disk sizes vary between providers, and each column in the tables above states its own configuration so you can see exactly what you get.
How much traffic is included?
Every CubePath server ships with a monthly transfer allowance, from 3 TB on the entry plan up to 200 TB on the largest ones. Hetzner includes 20 TB on every cloud plan in its EU regions, which is more than our smaller plans allow, and 1 to 5 TB in its US regions, which is less than ours.
Where are your data centers?
CubePath runs data centers in Barcelona (EU), plus Houston and Miami in the US, so you get genuine EU data residency alongside low-latency coverage for North and South America.
Can I migrate my Hetzner cloud server?
Yes. You move it yourself with the tools you already use: deploy a CubePath VPS, copy your data over from a snapshot, a backup or a plain rsync between servers, test it, and point your DNS at the new server.

Did Hetzner raise its cloud prices in 2026?
Yes. Hetzner published a price adjustment that took effect on 15 June 2026 for new orders and rescales, covering its cloud server lines in every region. The figures on this page were read from Hetzner's own live price feed on 14 September 2026, so the comparison reflects what you would pay today.
Do you have ARM servers like the CAX plans?
No. CubePath runs AMD EPYC x86 hardware across the whole fleet, so an ARM workload has to be rebuilt for x86 before it moves. Most Docker images and interpreted stacks handle that with a rebuild; anything compiled for aarch64 needs recompiling. Hetzner currently lists its CAX line as unavailable for new orders in any case.
Is there a Hetzner alternative with a data center in Spain?
That is exactly what CubePath's EU region is. Our European site is in Barcelona, so your data stays in the EU and in Spain specifically, with a shorter network path for users in Spain, Portugal and southern Europe than a server in Germany or Finland.
What is the difference between CPX and CCX, and which CubePath line matches each?
Hetzner CPX instances use shared AMD vCPU, and CCX instances reserve dedicated vCPU. On CubePath, General Purpose (gp.*) is the shared line that replaces CX and CPX, and Dedicated CPU (dc.*) is the guaranteed-core line that replaces CCX. The table above maps every instance type one by one.
