📧 Before You Start

In your welcome email you will receive:

  • 🌐 Access link: https://[your-vps].cubepath.net/?token=xxxxx
  • 🔑 Security token (a long key)
  • 📋 Your VPS server information

💡 Tip: Save the email and link in a safe place

🚀 Step 1: First Access

Accessing Your OpenClaw

  1. Click on the link from your email
  2. Your browser will show: "Approve this device"
  3. Click on "Approve" or "Allow"
  4. Done! You're in 🎉

Quick Access Shortcuts

On your computer:

  • Save to bookmarks (Ctrl+D / Cmd+D)

On your mobile:

  • iPhone: Safari → Share → "Add to Home Screen"
  • Android: Chrome → Menu → "Add to Home Screen"

🔑 Step 2: Connect the AI (Claude)

OpenClaw needs to connect to Claude (Anthropic's artificial intelligence).

Why do I need this?

  • Your server (on Cubepath): It's YOURS, included ✅
  • The AI (Claude): You contract it directly with Anthropic 💡

This way you control how much you spend and don't overpay.

Get Your Anthropic API Key

  1. Go to → https://console.anthropic.com
  2. Create an account (or sign in if you already have one)
  3. Go to the "API Keys" menu
  4. Click on "Create Key"
  5. Copy the complete key (starts with sk-ant-...)

⚠️ Important:

  • Save this key in a secure place
  • Don't share it with anyone
  • It's like a password

Configure the API Key in OpenClaw

  1. In OpenClaw, click on ⚙️ Settings (top right)
  2. Look for the "Provider" or "API Configuration" section
  3. Find the "Anthropic API Key" field
  4. Paste your copied key
  5. Click on "Save"

Claude API (Anthropic)

💳 You pay directly to Anthropic

  • ~$3-15 per month in normal use
  • Only pay what you use (per "tokens")
  • No contracts or minimums

What are tokens? Words that Claude processes. A normal conversation = ~1,000-5,000 tokens.

Control Your Spending

Set a limit:

  1. Go to https://console.anthropic.com/settings/limits
  2. Set a monthly limit (e.g., $20/month)
  3. Anthropic will notify you when you approach it

Use economical models:

  • Haiku: Cheaper (~$0.25 per million tokens) - For simple tasks
  • Sonnet: Ideal balance (~$3 per million) - ← Recommended
  • Opus: More powerful (~$15 per million) - Only for the most important

Change in Settings → Model

⚙️ Basic Configuration

Change the AI Model

  1. Go to ⚙️ Settings
  2. Look for "Model"
  3. Select:
    • claude-opus-4-5 - Maximum quality (more expensive)
    • claude-sonnet-4-5 - Recommended (balance)
    • claude-haiku-4-5 - Fast and economical

Adjust Behavior

Temperature (Creativity):

  • 🔥 High (0.8-1.0): More creative, less predictable
  • 🧊 Low (0.1-0.3): More precise, more consistent

Max Tokens (Length):

  • More tokens = Longer responses (more expensive)
  • Fewer tokens = Shorter responses (cheaper)

3 Golden Rules

  1. ❌ NEVER share your token (the ?token=... part of the link)
  2. ❌ NEVER share your API Key from Anthropic
  3. ✅ ALWAYS log out on shared computers

Why is this important?

  • Your token = Full access to your OpenClaw
  • Your API Key = You'll be charged for AI usage

🆘 Common Problems and Solutions

❌ "I can't access the link"

Possible causes:

  • You didn't copy the complete link (missing ?token=...)
  • Cookies disabled in your browser

Solution:

  1. Copy the complete link from the email
  2. Try in incognito mode
  3. If it persists → https://my.cubepath.com/tickets

❌ "The assistant doesn't respond"

Possible causes:

  • You didn't configure the Anthropic API Key
  • Your API Key is invalid
  • You ran out of credits in Anthropic

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Verify that the API Key is configured
  2. Go to https://console.anthropic.com/settings/billing
  3. Verify you have available credit
  4. Regenerate a new API Key if necessary

❌ "Error: Invalid API Key"

Solution:

  1. Go to https://console.anthropic.com
  2. Go to "API Keys"
  3. Delete the old key
  4. Create a new one
  5. Update in OpenClaw Settings

❌ "Asks to approve device every time"

Causes:

  • Incognito mode activated
  • Cookies blocked
  • You change browsers

Solution:

  • Always use the same browser
  • Allow cookies for your domain
  • Don't use incognito mode for daily use

💡 Tips for Better Results

✅ Be Specific

❌ Bad: "Help me with this" ✅ Good: "Correct spelling and make it more professional"

✅ Give Context

❌ Bad: "Analyze this" ✅ Good: "I'm a sales manager. Analyze if we met Q1 targets"

✅ Use Continuous Conversations

  • OpenClaw remembers the context
  • You can say: "Now make it shorter" or "Add 3 examples"
  • You don't need to repeat everything each time

✅ Attach Relevant Files

  • If you're talking about a document, upload it
  • If you mention code, attach it
  • If analyzing data, include the file

How many devices can I use? As many as you want. You only need to approve them the first time you access from each one.

Are my conversations secure? Yes. Everything is saved on YOUR private server on Cubepath with HTTPS. Not shared with anyone.

Can I change my access token? Yes. Contact Cubepath support to generate a new one.

Does it work without internet? No. You need an internet connection to access OpenClaw and the Claude API.

Can I use another AI instead of Claude? OpenClaw is designed for Claude from Anthropic. If you need another AI, consult with support.

What happens if I run out of credit in Anthropic? OpenClaw will stop responding. Simply reload credit at console.anthropic.com

Can I cancel at any time? Yes. For the Cubepath server according to your VPS plan. Anthropic without contracts or penalties.
