The public port of a VPS runs at 1 Gbps. The 10 Gbps port add-on raises it to 10 Gbps for $20 per month, billed by the hour like the VPS itself.

Where it is available

  • Barcelona, Houston and Miami, on any VPS plan.
  • Projects billed by the hour.
  • Servers with a public IP.
  • Organizations that have made a payment and are at least 7 days old.

Add it when you deploy

On the deploy page, open Advanced Settings and tick 10 Gbps port under Addons. The server starts at 10 Gbps.

From the terminal, with cubecli 1.19.0 or later:

cubecli vps create --name web-01 --project <project-id> --location us-mia-1 \
  --plan gp.medium --template ubuntu-24 --ssh <key-id> --addon vps-port-10g

Add it to a VPS you already have

Ask our team through a support ticket. The speed goes up with no downtime. To finish the setup, restart the server from the panel: a reboot from inside the operating system is not enough. The restart gives the network card one queue per vCPU, up to 8, so the traffic can use more than one core.

Your traffic allowance stays the same

The add-on raises the speed, not the traffic included in your plan. At full speed, a plan with 10 TB uses its allowance in under three hours. We email you at 50%, 80% and 100% of it.

Public traffic beyond the allowance is billed at $2 per TB, as on any VPS. The port goes back to 1 Gbps, and we email you, in two cases:

  • The excess in a month reaches $200. You can have the add-on again from the next month.
  • You have excess and your balance is $0 or less. You can have it again after adding balance.

The VPS keeps running at 1 Gbps in both cases.

Remove it

Only our team can remove the add-on: open a support ticket. The port goes back to 1 Gbps with no downtime, and billing for the add-on stops.

Good to know

  • The port runs on our shared network, best effort, with no throughput guarantee.
  • The speed belongs to the server, not to its IPs. If you move a floating IP between two servers for failover, both need the add-on, and the excess is billed to the server that carries the traffic.
  • Resizing, migrating, reinstalling and restoring a backup keep the add-on.
  • Servers with the add-on show a gauge icon next to their status in the panel.
