If you don't operate your own ASN and address space, IP Transit isn't what you're after — a VPS or dedicated server with floating IPs is.

Order

    Select location
    Choose a facility on the interactive map. This is where your port lands.

    Name the port and pick speed
    Give the port a name (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 3–50 characters), then select 1G, 10G, 40G or 100G.

    Choose minimum term
    Pick No Minimum (monthly) or a 12 / 24 / 36 month term. Longer terms save 10% / 15% / 20%.

    Add LAG (optional)
    On 10G and above you can bundle two ports with LAG (single router) or MLAG (dual router) for extra bandwidth and redundancy.

    Choose IP Transit or Layer 2 (VLAN).

    For IP Transit, pick a commit level and set your ASN, IPv4 prefix and optional IPv6. For Layer 2, pick the destination facility and a VLAN ID. Review the summary and order.

95th percentile billing

Your traffic is sampled across the month, the samples are sorted, and the top 5% are discarded before the highest remaining sample sets your bill. In practice that means short spikes are free — a nightly backup burst or a launch-day peak lasting under about 36 hours a month doesn't move the number — while sustained traffic does.

The practical consequence: pick a commit level based on your sustained peak, not your absolute peak, and don't pay for headroom you only use in bursts.

LAG and MLAG

Bundling two ports raises the ceiling and adds redundancy, but the two options protect against different things:

  • LAG bundles two ports on a single router. You survive a port or cable failure; you don't survive that router.
  • MLAG bundles across two routers. You survive either one failing.

If the circuit is carrying production traffic, MLAG is the one that matters — port failures are much rarer than planned router maintenance.
